Workshops Ukrainians
Since April 2024, the Kindful Foundation has been supporting workshops by the Svitlo Project for displaced Ukrainians in the Netherlands. These somatic sessions offer space for processing, healing, and connection, and for many feel like a place to briefly come home.
Workshops for Ukrainians
Since April 2024, the Kindful Foundation has been supporting workshops initiated by the Svitlo Project (a part of the Mano Association), created to support the mental health and emotional well-being of displaced Ukrainians living in the Netherlands. These workshops have been held regularly in Rotterdam and The Hague.
Each workshop is a guided somatic practice that includes movement, breathwork, self-massage, sensory meditation, and body-based self-inquiry. The sessions focus on themes that many displaced Ukrainians are deeply struggling with while living away from their home country, which is still affected by war.
The themes include emotional regulation, suppressed anger, facing grief and guilt, needs and boundaries, feelings of being stuck, life choices, finding a sense of belonging, rebuilding self-confidence, and other challenges related to displacement and uncertainty.
These workshops not only help participants meet their challenges with more ease and self-compassion, but they have also led to the creation of a warm and supportive community. It is a space to connect with like-minded people who share similar experiences and struggles. For many participants, the workshops feel like a homecoming.
